Reflections of 2014: GABRIELLE + WILL

GABRIELLE + WILL

Will and Gabrielle were one of those couples I felt I was destined to work with!

She, Will and I had a few mutual friends but hadn't met until we were connected last fall.  With most of Gabby's family and friends living and working in Boston and up north, the couple needed an extra hand in covering the hours of planning leading up to their big day, held back in July at Historic Tredegar.

Some of my favorite moments captured at this wedding were the first look with Gabrielle and her father, as well as the Bride and Groom’s first look.  These were documented so beautifully by Amanda Meyer Photography.

These moments are so precious!

Wedding weekends are typically jam packed with events, families and friends, and the first look allows a few minutes for the couple to take a breath and spend an intimate moment together to take it all in, and remember what the whole day is about.   Gabby and Will met in the middle on the iron staircase at Tredegar.

I am a sucker for these first looks!

Gabby and Will chose a unique backdrop for the ceremony up on the grass with the city skyline in the background, which I had never seen done at this venue.  They wanted to add to the backdrop with these vintage doors from Paisley & Jade, which added a nice focal point for their ceremony.

Post ceremony, the group snuck away to Brown’s Island across the street offering a gorgeous backdrop for some wedding party shots before the sun went down. Their reception followed on the charming bluestone patio at Historic Tredegar.

“Mint-to-bito’s” and “The Gabford,” were their signature cocktails enjoyed by the guests as the wedding party entered.  Yum :)

I absolutely love traditions, and the couple decided to include some Jewish traditions into their day to honor Gabby's family including the breaking of the glass in their ceremony, and the Horah dance to kick off the reception.  I loved seeing everyone come together and join in Hava Nagila, performed by their live band to kick of the party.

I know these two have a long, happy journey together ahead!
