As a recent bride herself, Brittany knows what goes into planning a wedding- time, a stressful to do list, along with all the celebrations that come with an engagement. While keeping up with a healthy diet during this time is crucial, finding time for some exercise each day is necessary in order to stay centered and feeling great leading up to your big day.
Old man winter hung around just a tad too long and we know…you are probably ready to kick that dreaded treadmill and same-ole stale gym class to the curb, eh? With that in mind, we are thrilled to feature a few of our favorite fitness boutiques in Richmond. Check out these fun ways to power up your workouts, tone up AND release stress! You’ll be “wedding dress” ready in no time.
If you are a fan of that carb torching burn on the bike in spin class, you will love what AnneMarie Grohs and Shannon Greenwood of Boho Cycle Studio have done to amp up your pedal pushing!
What to expect at Boho Cycle Studio:
Riders are taken through an invigorating workout by one of the best cycling instructors in the region. A thoughtfully constructed cardio experience complemented by a killer soundtrack is sure to get your heart, mind, and body racing. The classes Boho offers incorporate elements of yoga, dance, strength and cardio.
On occasion, Boho Cycle Stuido adds "Cardio Parties" to their schedule, where a DJ is hired, the lights are down and every rider gets glow sticks. Riders have an absolute blast, while sure to get a full body conditioning experience. Next in the spotlight, is a ballet-inspired exercise routine that lifts, lengthens, and tones your entire body. Many of you by now may have heard of this barre workout that has taken Hollywood celebs by storm, and has proven to be a trend with serious staying power! Alexandra Gibson and Bronwyn Lloyd Conway started Corner Barre when they couldn't get this targeted toning workout anywhere else in the area. If you are ready to shred, this is definitely one workout you can't pass up!
What to expect at Corner Barre:
At Corner Barre you can find a one-hour, low impact workout blending pilates, yoga and ballet moves for FAST results. Suited for all, classes are taught using simply body weight, and very little equipment. This body weight training is more protective of the low back and joints, while challenging core stabilization throughout.
Corner Barre co-owners and instructors each bring something unique, fun and challenging to every class. Set to music, this one-of-a-kind workout provides a series of fat-burning exercises that isolate and sculpt smaller muscle groups, while simultaneously working the major muscles as well.

What to expect at Zinger Fit:
All classes are set in an interval style to accommodate all levels and provide maximum calorie burning as a result. Zinger Fit is a women’s only, personal and small group training facility. With a class limit of eight, you will never get lost in the shuffle of a big gym class. Kelly is a Certified Personal Trainer, earning her certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. She works with women of all fitness levels.
Kelly shared with us some ideas for the busy bride that can even be done at home.
She suggests trying a pyramid, to keep it fun:
-Start with two exercises (example: bodyweight squats and sit ups; lunges and jumping jacks; push ups and squat jumps)
-Start with 1 rep of each exercise and work your way up to 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 reps of each and then back down 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 rep of each exercise
End it with planks, which Kelly notes as one of the best total body exercises you can do to tone your core, arms and even legs!
