Jennings grew up in Richmond, VA, surrounded by entrepreneurs, entertainers, soldiers, and chefs, all of whom helped shape and create her passion, creativity, and work ethic.
Jennings discovered her talent for planning and executing events as an undergrad at George Mason University in Northern Virginia. Beginning with her first event, a celebratory luncheon honoring the university’s Lifelong Learning Institute, Jennings was captivated as she experienced firsthand the many complex components of a planned vision transformed into the reality of an unforgettable occasion. From that moment, she was sold on her career choice! In 2005, she graduated from George Mason with a BA in Organizational Management and a focus in Special Events and Leadership.
"Jennings doesn't miss a beat."
After college, Jennings worked as Sales Coordinator and Events Assistant at Hyatt Hotels in Northern, VA, making arrangements for and responding to the needs of various groups visiting the area. When a job opportunity arose in her beloved hometown of Richmond, VA, she happily accepted the position as Events Manager for Virginia Repertory Theatre (formerly Barksdale Theatre and Theatre IV).
Through her experience at Virginia Rep—from managing budgets, sponsors, and teams of volunteers for large-scale gala fundraising events, to working with caterers, musicians, and private parties for intimate hospitality receptions at multiple theatre locations—Jennings gained significant and valuable knowledge and experience in the field of events planning.
Over the years, Jennings has developed strong relationships with multiple individuals for whom she has coordinated weddings, parties, and other events outside of Virginia Rep. In 2013, she combined her skills of event planning, creativity, and organization to form her personal planning venture, “Belles and Whistles”.
Jennings draws her creative energy from the vast culture, charm and beauty in and around Richmond. Her attention to detail and positive attitude are at the heart of each event. Whether a wedding, fundraiser, or party for 8 or 800, Jennings carefully listens to each client’s personal vision for the event, and doesn't miss a beat in working alongside them to create the reality of a beautiful, joyful, and memorable experience.
